It is shown that by adding a CALL component to the language teaching system, it is possible to analyze original English sentences and the students' translations and compare their semantic content using logical forms to provide diagnostic information about lexical and semantic errors made by students.

VAhid R. Mirzaiean got his Ph.D. from department of computation UMIST, Uk. in 2003. His main areas of interest include: Natural language processing, the use of NLP in language teaching, and use of corpus in language teaching. He is currently an academic member in the English Language Teaching Department in Iran University of Science and Technology.
