Further, the power and dependency rankings of the model can be translated to apply to elements of other management models, for example, to categories of the ABEF. The development of the TQM model is a significant step forward in providing a fresh approach, as well as a clearer understanding and guidance, for future research intothe application of quality management models appropriate into the 21st century.

Dr Johan Veltmeyer PhD MBA FASQ has 45 years of experience in Defence. As well, Dr Veltmeyer has an MBA from Adelaide University, is a fellow in the American Society of Quality and a Justice of the Peace.
