This book focused on conducting an outcomes evaluation of the solar lantern project by Howard Foundation. The evaluator used both qualitative and quantitative approaches in the evaluation design. The evaluation was aimed at assessing the extent to which the outcomes of the solar lantern project that include , improving the academic performance of programme clients by 50%, increasing the study time of the programme clients by 100% and establishing functional study groups have been achieved. Questionnaires, document reviews and focus group discussions were used to collect data. Findings revealed that the solar lantern project failed to improve the academic performance of the programme clients by 50%.The findings of the evaluation also revealed that the project failed to increase the study time of the programme clients by 100%. It was also noted through the evaluation that the study groups established were not functional. Various challenges faced by the programme clients that have resulted in the failure of the project to achieve its intended outcomes were also highlighted in the evaluation. The evaluation also highlighted the positive and negative unintended outcomes of the project
