The objective of the study was to assess the nature and content of Ethiopian social security policy in relation to, International convention, national constitution and Universal Declaration of human Right. For the study both primary and secondary sources have been employed. The assessment made revealed that, Social security policy in Ethiopia is still at infant stage and Compared with international Labor Organization convention, national constitution and other neighboring countries, it is still incompatible. Therefore, to have governance with good will of the people the government is expected to give focus and protects its own people from social insecurity.

Moti Mosisa Gutema is one of the Emerging young scholars in Ethiopia. He took his BA degree in Public Administration and Development Management from Wollega University and now he is Masters Degree candidate at Addis Ababa University in the department of Public Policy and Management. He is also lecturer at Dilla university.
