Atherosclerosis has been the cardinal cause of death worldwide in developed countries. Stenosis builds up in the wall of the arteries, leads to blood flow restriction which is the leading cause of stroke and death worldwide. Atherosclerosis has been the cardinal cause of death worldwide in developed countries. Stenosis builds up in the wall of the arteries, leads to blood flow restriction which is the leading cause of stroke and death worldwide. Bifurcation and division of arteries are the most preferred sites for the progression of the atherosclerosis due to the irregular flow conditions. Atherosclerosis can be attributed to hardening, narrowing and thickening of wall of the artery. In this work, the hemodynamic parameters of artery are presented to help in understanding the vascular diseases which is caused due to the deposition of stenosis. The software tool Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has been used for studying computational techniques which gives pavement in the design of the geometrical model of arteries and its simulation analysis. Different parameters like shape, size and position of stenosis varies from person to person has been studied. The work is further extended to examine the phenomenon of variation of shape, size and position of stenosis by numerical simulation of blood flow in healthy and stenosed artery having different plaque shape and size.
