Based on the fact that 2023 was the warmest year ever recorded in the history of the planet (NASA), Russia is therefore one of the countries that contributes most to climate change with its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. According to 2021 data, Russia emitted 1,942,535 megatonnes of CO2, which represents 10% of global emissions and places it fourth in the ranking of the most polluting countries. Most of these emissions come from the energy sector. This research performed a characterization of the variables CO2 emissions and vehicles in use, a normality test was applied to the data through the Shapiro Wilk analysis, a Spearman correlation test that resulted in a strong correlation of r=0.519; which means that there is an intermediate correlation between the two variables.A future projection was made using the least squares model, from 2024 to 2030, resulting in CO2 emissions of 1849 Mt in 2024 and increasing emissions up to 1890 Mt by 2030, which puts at risk the environmental goals of maintaining the global temperature of the planet at less than 1.5°C.
