This book Analysis of land use in the municipalities of Ceará: understanding the anthropic transition and its consequences in the socio-environmental dynamics of the state was elaborated from the research carried out for the Thesis in the Postgraduate Program in Development and Environment: An analysis of land use in the municipalities of Ceará. The book proposes to study the dynamics of land use in Ceará in the period 1985 to 2019, to verify the existence of the relationship between land use and periods of drought in Ceará, and to analyze whether municipal management of agriculture and cattle ranching can interfere with land use behavior in Ceará's municipalities. The results showed reduction of forests and increase of agriculture and cattle ranching, socioeconomic and environmental impacts of drought and heterogeneity in the agricultural and cattle ranching management of Ceará's municipalities. Anthropic effects on the soil lead to its degradation and possible desertification, damaging the environment and the quality of life of the people of Ceará.
