This research discusses radio and fiber optic technologies in the quilombola community of Umarizal. It looks at the two technologies present in the community's Conect_A&D internet provider. The general objective was to analyze the radio and fiber optic technologies in operation at the Internet provider in the quilombola community of Umarizal, Baião. The aim was to obtain comparative data between the two technologies, using a field study methodology with a qualitative approach. To this end, specific applications and software were used, among other practical analyses, in order to achieve the general objective of the research. The results obtained reveal the differences between the technologies in terms of speed, stability, costs, advantages and disadvantages. The results show that although fiber optic technology costs twice as much to deploy, it offers a better quality service and wider bandwidths. However, in the community of Umarizal, radio stands out for its ability to serve users where there are no conditions for laying optical cables.
