University pedagogy is a major innovation at the Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) of Dakar. It is deployed in all faculties, schools and institutes thanks to the Performance Contract (CDP) signed between the Ministry of Education and Research and the university. The design and publication online of about one hundred transversal (pedagogical) and disciplinary courses were carried out following workshops to harmonise course outlines and training seminars on course mediation. Constructivist and socio-constructivist theories were strongly recommended as a basis for course development. The paradigm shift makes demands that need to be defined and supported in order to achieve meaningful results. This study analyses the effectiveness of the constructivist and socio-constructivist approach on the basis of a dozen indicators. It suggests ways of improving the existing situation and preventing possible shortcomings in future actions.
