The Thermal Power station constitutes a major proportion of installed capacity in the Global Power Generation System as well as in Indian Power generation systems. Therefore, achieving an optimal operation for the same, by conducting a parametric study and optimizing a few parameters which have a noticeable effect on the power generation might prove beneficial for the power stations. Since the simulation has been the tool for optimal operation and control. In addition, it also serves the function of providing practical hands-on experience to the trainee so they can get better exposure to the control room. In this project, for the analysis purpose the SIM simulator (Standard Power Plant simulator) is being used which is comprehensive, dynamic simulation and had a multi-fuel running ability employed with tandem-compound steam turbine-generator which is designed to operate at 210 MW. Moreover, it is also characterized by Disturbances and Malfunction features along with monitoring provision which assisted us in the parametric study and generating results in the form of graphical representation.
