This work was done to identify the factors influencing attitudes and academic performance of Hawassa TVET college students. A cross sectional survey was conducted on 536 Hawassa TVET College students chosen by stratified random sampling. Factor analysis identified six factors which could potentially influence students attitude or perception towards TVET. These were Advantage of TVET, Implications of TVET, Future job opportunity, Self-interest, Positive attitude for TVET and Distance of TVET College from home. The Bayesian logistic regression model identified Age and Satisfaction by teachers as additional predictors of academic competence. It is recommended that the concerned bodies must carry on promoting a good image of vocational education, improving its quality and creating job opportunities for TVET graduates.
