The study sought to investigate the Influence of Social Media Applications on the academic performance of pupils in Civic Education in selected secondary schools in Kitwe. In this study, data was collected using questionnaires and the interview guide. From the responses given, the paper measured the rate of use, participation in activities and times spent on these applications. The relationship between social networking sites and academic performance was also examined. From the responses analyzed, it was found that majority of learners use social media frequently for more than 2 hours every day and among the sites visited frequently included, Facebook and WhatsApp.
