Autorenporträt
Tara Dozier grew up in Chicago, Il in an average middle-class family. Tara is also an accomplished nail technician and businesswoman who hopes to elevate women morals and values through her writing. Tara reflects on lessons from her past relationships, as well as her friends, relatives, and coworkers. What gives the book extra heft is how she reveals to readers how, with God's power and faith, she found the freedom from her traumatic life experiences. This book can only be told by a person who lived it. Shaun Brown was, too, born and raised in Chicago. He has four children. One daughter and three sons. An inner-city child, Shaun was raised in a single-parent home in an area with a reputation for being dangerous and drug-infested. Unfortunately, he soon did what so many in his community did: joined a gang and sold drugs. But Shaun was no ordinary drug dealer; by twenty-seven, he was one of Chicago's biggest drug kingpins, he lived in the lap of luxury and had on-call gang security. During the winter of 2001 he was indicted on federal money laundering and drug trafficking charges and sentenced to approximately fifteen years in prison. While incarcerated, he received numerous certifications in relationship and parenting issues. He has taught relationship principles to hundreds of inmates within the prison system. Most of his insights are based on his own experience with disappointing and toxic relationships, as well as his unfortunate childhood challenges. Driven by a will to change and an unshakable will to help people who face the same dilemmas that he was once confronted with, he has dedicated his life to helping couples and at-risk youth not only make sense of their life or relationships, but also strengthen them in ways they never thought possible. Shaun is also a former youth martial arts instructor and is known to people throughout his community as a person who uses his wealth as a base for building community betterment and to deter children involvement in crime.
