Indigenous variety of local Mizo pig plays a vital role in the economic development of rural population of Mizoram. This variety of pig population is thriving under poor management condition because of its high immune nature. In view of these facts, the present project is proposed to establish a baseline data of the normal anatomical aspects of these lymphoid organs for basic as well as applied purposes. The adult body weight was recorded 34.48±2.18 Kg in male and 21.17±2.29 Kg in female. The gross anatomical study revealed 9 types of peripheral lymph nodes. Histologically, the parenchyma was divided into two tissues, Cortex like tissue and Medulla-like tissue . The cortex like tissue contained mostly secondary nodules. The cell population of the nodule was mainly lymphoblast cells, some of with mitotic figures, lymphocytes, few macrophages along with reticular cells and plasma cells and occasional neutrophils. The well developed lymphatic system might enhanced the immune efficiency of the Mizo local pigs and rendered them more suitable to thrive even in poor management condition and better resistance to disease in Mizo local pig (Zo Vawk).
