Anchorage has always been one of the challenges of orthodontics successful orthodontic treatment is characterized by optimal anchorage control. Teeth or group of teeth are united to counteract biomechanical reactive forces during orthodontic treatment. When maximal anchorage is required during orthodontic treatment additional aids are often needed to support the anchorage unit. When intra oral aids may be limited in their anchorage potential then extraoral anchorage aids are chosen. last few decades several clinicians have adapted strategies to reduce the movement of anchor teeth have also sought different methods to build different intraoral anchorage. Successfully use of Osseo integrated implants have been also developed and tried in orthodontics for anchorage purpose. These implants provide a reliable anchorage control satisfying therefore one of the fundamental requirements in orthodontics. Presently in many critical anchorage situation mini screw and Osseo integrated implants have been used.
