The long journey of the concepts of Myth and History between the past and the future is a beautiful study about the limits of history and its possible contact with fiction, because through this discussion we have the possibility of realising that fictional sources greatly assist historical studies, since they refer to their moment of creation and are reflections of it. Therefore, in this study we have used two fictional works, Homer's Odyssey, an extraordinary epic of the archaic Greek world, and James Joyce's admirable 20th century novel Ulysses, in order to understand that studies that are inserted in the field of fiction (in this case, Myth and Literature) greatly assist the historian's craft. From these two fictional works, information was sought to understand Ancient Greece and what we know as the Modern World. In addition, Joyce's Ulysses is useful for understanding that Homer's Odyssey still makes sense today, and it is also useful for realising the other journeys that have given the name Ulysses or Odysseus, the Homeric hero.
