Ms. Antonella Melaragno is a licensed insurance broker by day, mom of two by night, and considers herself a "dog mom all the time" to her Chihuahua Fox Terrier, Frankie, who is the inspiration for the story. His constant wagging curly tail can also be characteristic of his joy in life. Antonella would say that growing up in a non-pet family is unfortunate, as a pet can add to a child's life in many ways, from responsibility and care to friendship to mutual respect of the living creatures around us. As a mom, having a quick bedtime read is a bonus. And she recalls that book-reading was a happy daily ritual between her and her children. The favourite books would then become first-readers for her children, and the stories that they remember from their childhood. She believes reading is important to begin early in life, as it will make a child inquisitive and add to their wonderment of the world around them. She hopes that you too will enjoy her book and share it with the youngsters in your lives.
