Autorenporträt
I wrote Andean Rebel about 17 years ago while flying planes in South America. The novel's characters and places I experienced firsthand. Andean Rebel recounts three days in the life of an American pilot who flies for a rebel group in Colombia. He falls in love with a young woman aiding them. The story accelerates from there. About a year and a half ago, I met Liah Kraft Kristaine, (Random House author, attorney, and agent) Our conversations led to the point where she graciously agreed to read the first chapter and the best chapter of my book. After she read those two chapters, she asked for the remainder of the book. When she finished she said to me and I quote: "The book reverberated and stayed with me. I cannot let the characters go. I will help you release this book." From this simple beginning developed our professional and personal relationship. She has guided me through every step from refining the story, selecting a killer title, and finding a publisher. At the Book Expo in Chicago last year, I met a representative from Big Chicago Books and Publishing. They agreed to take a risk on a first-time author. After some gut-wrenching conversations and hardcore editing, they have launched Andean Rebel into the world. Enjoy the read. I love a good story.
