Born in Vimmerby, Ravelli started playing professionally for Östers IF, lasting ten seasons with the club and winning three Allsvenskan titles, before signing for IFK Göteborg. At age 31, he moved to amateur football, representing Lenhovda IF (two stints) and Hovmantorp until his retirement (he also represented Östers in between). Ravelli won 41 caps with Sweden, his debut coming in 1980. He never participated in any international tournament, however. After retiring, Ravelli spent two seasons as manager of former club Öster. He also began running football camps for youths.Ravelli is the twin brother of another footballer, goalkeeper Thomas. The sons of an Austrian immigrant of Italian descent, the siblings played alongside each other at Östers and the national team.
