Autorenporträt
Dharshi Samarawickrama, born in Colombo, Sri Lanka had her education in Sri Lanka, Nigeria and England. She holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Sri Lanka, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK. and presently resides in Ottawa, Canada with her family. Dharshi finds it a soothing diversion to write children's stories during her free time. She has been inspired by her son, during the years she sacrificed her career solely for his benefit, to realize her childhood fantasy of writing children's stories illustrated with colourful pictures, finally bringing her inborn and hidden talents to light. The exposure she gained through education in foreign schools and her extensive travelling also influenced her passion for writing and illustrating children's stories. This series of books with colourful illustrations is aimed at 3 to 7 year olds, to improve their reading habits and to stimulate and arouse their imagination. Each book conveys a subtle message and moral value to the reader. The Fruity Friends Series is a novel concept which is based on talking fruit families, giving life to fruits. She wishes to thank and acknowledge the Publishers, Printers and all those who helped make this venture a reality, and especially her husband, son and parents for their unstinted support and encouragement shown.
