On her way to the beach for spring break, pretty and petite, Tanny Guidry stops at the Laularie Parish Sanitarium to see for herself if all the terrifying stories online are true. Within minutes of entering the abandoned building, she begins to hear and then see those who didn't survive the barbaric treatments, the murderous staff, and being locked away with the criminally insane. Yet more terrifying than the spirits of the dead, is her presence within these walls has awakened within her an ancient evil, more frightening and more deadly than any of the terrors that haunt the sanitarium, including the gang that preys upon those foolish enough to enter. Once safely at the beach, Tanny's newfound ability to witness the past is overwhelming. In a Galveston antique store, she feels strangely compelled to purchase a vintage porcelain doll and while leaving the store, she is drawn to an old photograph of an angel in Galveston's Old City Cemetery. While seeking out the angel, the only gang member who survived the encounter with Tanny in the sanitarium has followed her to the cemetery. Catching her all alone amongst the tombstones, he is hell-bent on vengeance. Yet the presence within the petite young woman is a fearsome force, and when she is the one who walks away, her attacker lies impaled upon the fence surrounding the angel's crypt. In nearby Houston, an assistant DA who battled The Angel of Evil along with Tanny's father sees the story on the news. Rushing to her aid, the DA brings Tanny to her home in Houston's historic Heights where she learns the truth about her father's death. Despite everything, Tanny struggles to accept her father was involved with a voodoo cult and died to protect her from The Angel of Evil. The Angel of Evil is hell-bent on possessing Tanny's soul, yet she will fight until her dying breath to break the connection and banish the demon forever.
