Autorenporträt
Dr. Beischel is from a large Midwest family, the eighth of nine children. He holds a doctorate in psychology from Indiana University, studying on a fellowship at the Institute of Child Study in Bloomington. He also holds a Master's degree in School Counseling and undergraduate degrees in philosophy and theology. He has a varied employment history as a high school teacher and counselor, a Nebraska State penitentiary psychologist, a psychiatric hospital psychologist, and a private practice psychologist specializing in neglect and abuse with children and adults. Currently, he serves part time as the Mental Health Consultant at Early Head Start in Omaha, Nebraska. With all of this, Dr. Beischel believes that his best education on attachment came from being a foster and adoptive parent. On a part-time basis, Dr. Beischel has also been training psychologists and counselors on various topics through Vyne Education and Pesi.Dr. Beischel was an active priest for twenty years and tells his story of leaving. He believes that he is more spiritual now and still thinks of himself as a priest whose mission now is to be a servant of prayer. At age 90 he still is a consultant for Early Head Start in Omaha, NE.
