The Earth's biological diversity and other natural resources provide economic, social and aesthetic values to mankind. Angiosperms are a diverse plant group, containing more than 2.5 lakh species. They occur in virtually all ecosystem of the world including sea, but their distribution is very uneven. Achanakmar Amarkantak Biosphere Reserve (AABR) of central India is one of the best places not only for plant diversity and taxonomic studies, but also for ecological studies. The forests of AABR are the home of various rare, threatened and economically important plants and also an example of natural biomass of unique vegetational communities. This book deals with the diversity and distribution of plants in this Biosphere Reserve.
