Autorenporträt
DR. PETER MARK ROGET (1779-1869) was born in London, England, to a family who struggled with mental illness, to the point of institutionalization and suicide. To create order, Roget began making lists at age eight, compiling 15,000 words in his first edition of the Thesaurus, which was published after his retirement from practicing medicine.
