As of 2011, she lives in Rome with Gigi D'Alessio and gave birth to a son named Andrea in March 2010. In 2002, Tatangelo became the youngest person at 15 years old to win the Sanremo Music Festival's Newcomer's Award. After her victory, she recorded a popular duet in 2003, "Un nuovo bacio" with her now boyfriend, singer-songwriter Gigi D'Alessio, and also "Il mondo è mio" in 2004. Her first album, Attimo x attimo was released only in September 2003, and contained her first duet with D'Alessio.
