After her mother's early death, she was raised by her maternal grandparents in a rural and often lonely environment, which fueled her imagination. She began writing at a young age and pursued a teaching career before dedicating herself fully to writing.Her debut novel, Anne of Green Gables (1908), became an international success, making her one of Canada's most beloved authors.
