Autorenporträt
Barbara Heller is a set decorator for film and television, including The Americans and When They See Us, and a writer and director of award-winning short films that have screened at festivals around the world (Cannes, Berlin, Sundance). Her previous books include special editions of Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, and Persuasion. She lives in New York City. Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874-1942) was a Canadian author best known for a series of novels beginning with Anne of Green Gables, published in 1908. An immediate bestseller, the book marked the beginning of her successful career as a novelist. She died in 1942 and was buried on Prince Edward Island, near the site of her old home. Montgomery immortalized this place, where all but one of her twenty books are set, through her descriptions of life, nature, community, and people of the island.
