This book of poems will speak to anyone who has ever been in love. After the sudden death of his wife, Marjorie, in 2002, Walter Gordon began revising the poems that he had written to her over the years for their anniversaries. This volume collects these poems, together with a group of related poems that Gordon has written since his wife's passing. Ranging from playful to serious, they are a tribute to Marjorie. Born of love and then assembled out of grief and regret, the poems are both a celebration of love and an exploration of the mystery of life. Walter Gordon taught English literature for five years at Loyola-Marymount University and for twenty-eight years at the University of Georgia, where he retired as professor emeritus. In addition to published articles and poems, Gordon is the author of the book "Humanist Play and Belief: The Seriocomic Art of Desiderius Erasmus." He currently is completing a book about violence in the works of Thomas More.
