Autorenporträt
Elise Stuart moved to Silver City, New Mexico in 2005. She came to know the desert as a place where wild plants can survive without rain, a land where small yellow flowers grow in arroyos fed by underground streams. Reawakened to miracles of the natural world, she found her home. In 2014, when she was chosen Poet Laureate of Silver City, she envisioned giving young people an opportunity to experience that same sense of connection and wonder. Inspired by the magic that the doors of poetry can open, beginning poets of all ages are now expressing themselves through the written and spoken word, participating in numerous activities and events, and creating a greater literary voice throughout the community.
