No one had been able to live in the old Johnson place for nearly sixty years. When Tyler Jackson enrolled at Greenville College, he didn't expect the old house he rented near campus to be haunted. Tyler didn't believe in the supernatural. But it didn't take him long to change his mind. He didn't expect to find romance either - not until he met the boy next door. Autorenporträt
Richard K. Flowers was born in Moultrie, Georgia in 1957. Although legally blind since birth, he attended public school until the middle of eighth grade. He transferred to the Georgia Academy for the Blind in 1971. While there, he discovered an interest in writing poetry. Besides writing, Mr. Flowers also had an interest in radio. After high school, he pursued an AA degree in Broadcast Journalism from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, which he earned in 1977. He was working part-time on weekends at WLOR radio in Thomasville, Georgia. When Mr. Flowers transferred to the University of Georgia to complete his four year degree, he gave up his weekend job. However, his on-air experience led him to specialize in Broadcast Production, and he earned a BA degree from UGA in July of 1979. WLOR had a full-time opening, and he was re-hired. He remained there for twelve years. When the radio station was moved to Tallahassee, Florida in 1991, Mr. Flowers returned to school to pursue a Ph.D. in Foreign Language Education so he could teach Spanish in a college or university. He completed a BA degree in Spanish at Valdosta State College in 1994, an MA degree in Spanish at Florida State University in 1997, and an MA degree in Multilingual/Multicultural Education from Florida State University in 1999. In 2003, his father passed away. Exhausted from eleven long years of school, he was no longer able to continue and never completed the Ph.D. A year after leaving college, he found work with the State of Florida Division of Blind Services. Mr. Flowers is currently Webmaster for the DBS Internet and Intranet websites. During his college years, Mr. Flowers had taken several creative writing courses - focusing mainly on the short story format. His instructors said he had a knack for description and attention to detail. One day, he was reading a story on a fan fiction website and decided to try his hand at writing a novel. He had not written anything for years. He did some research and began the attempt. His novel was eventually shared on the website but could not be published. After receiving several good reviews, he decided to write an original work that could be published. Now, he writes for the pure enjoyment of writing. He hopes his readers enjoy his work as much as he enjoyed creating it.
