Produktbeschreibung
Anti-dumping and safeguard measures are important means of restricting imports. Their increasing use especially among developed nations raises complicated issues like the proliferation of alternative discriminatory safeguard measures that may breach the spirit of the WTO. Taiwan is one of the four East Asian Newly Industrialising Countries (NICs) that have high exporting volumes with EU. With its strong ties to a rising China, Taiwan often finds its products targeted by the EU anti-dumping and safeguard measures. This book focuse on the impact of anti-dumping and safeguard measures on Taiwan initiated by the EU (still called the EC before 2009) from 1972 to 1992, not only to cast more light on the EU practice of these two important trade policies, but also to bring attention to the EU s general trade policies towards Taiwan and the important East Asian region.
