The consequences of traffic accidents are influenced by many factors. Accidents can be prevented by measures applied in the field of vehicle construction, in the field of road design and last but not least in the field of driver's education and by motivating him/her to drive safely. It is necessary to keep finding factors which can negatively affect the driver and which can affect his/her decision making in the traffic. The topic of this habilitation thesis is a proposal of methodology which would determine the influence of spatial routing of divided roads on the reduced visual comfort of the driver. The visual comfort can be highly reduced by the emitted light from headlamps of oncoming vehicles. As a result of this phenomenon, the recognition of objects in the traffic can be crucially reduced. The possibility of glare is highly undesirable on divided roads. The presented methodology delimits sections of the roads where the anti-glare systems need to be placed (mounted). The methodology also determinates geometrical characteristics of the anti-glare systems.
