The brown seaweed Turbinaria ornata was tested against the 12 human pathogenic bacteria under in vitro conditions. The Turbinaria ornata was extracted by using Acetone, Methanol, Petroleum ether and Hexane and was tested for their antimicrobial and antioxidant potential. The ethyl acetate partitioned methanol extract of Turbinaria ornata showed wide spectrum antibacterial activity against the human pathogenic bacteria. Produktbeschreibung
The 10 morphologically distinct epiphytic bacterial strains (UR1-UR10) were isolated from the surface of Turbinaria ornata and it was screened for antimicrobial activity against human pathogenic bacteria. Only 2 out of 10 (UR4 and UR7) strains showed activity against all antimicrobial bacteria. The culture supernatant of both stains were subjected to antibacterial screening against human pathogenic bacteria and both the strains showed wide spectrum activity against all human pathogenic bacteria. The book was written for Students, Research scholar and Academics.
