In this book entitled "Phytochemical characterization and Anti cancer activity of Cucumis Sativus Linn, the plant Cucumis Sativus belonging to family Cucurbitaceae has been studied to compare and give detailed report on,preliminary phytochemical, isolation of active constituents and pharmacological studies. It shows that triterpenoids present in extract may be possibly responsible for the anticancer activities.

Dr. Gomathi Swaminathan, completed her UG, PG and PhD in TNDr MGR Medical university, Chennai. She has published 35 research articles in various national and international journals and has received many best poster and oral presentation awards in national and international conferences. She has received research grant from ICMR-New Delhi & JSSAHER.
