Green corrosion inhibitors are rich source of necessary elements such as O, C, N and S, which are active in organic compounds. These assist in adsorption of these compounds on metals or alloys to form a film that protects the surface and resists corrosion. Henceforth, protective films are formed on the metal surface and hence corrosion is prevented. Apart from being inexpensive and readily available plant products are non-toxic and biodegradable. The present research focuses on the extracts of Asopalav leaves (Polyalthia longifolia) and dried Marigold petals (Tagetes) as green corrosion inhibitors for pure Al in acidic medium using weight loss methods. Inhibition efficiency was further enhanced in presence of metal nanoparticles. It also varies directly with temperature and hence, preferred for reactions at higher temperatures.
