Dr.S.Shivashankar obtained PhD in Biochemistry from University of Mysore and is presently the Head,Division of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry at IIHR,Bangalore.He has made significant contributions to the understanding of the mechanism of internal breakdown in tropical fruits and role of antioxidants in resistance of chayote against melon fly.
