Anton Schweighofer, one of Austria's most eminent architects, is a declared supporter of a rationalism that relates both to a traditional anonymous architecture as well as to that of the classical modern movement; a lone figure, therefore, in an architectural scene that rates sophisticated detail and glossy surfaces more highly than the radical sounding out of the typological and structural aspects of a building project. Among the projects that are presented here in detail are the 'Stadt des Kindes' in Vienna, a Children's Village in New Delhi, a Hospital in Zwettl (Lower Austria), a Research Station in the Arctic, Community Halls in Lower Austria as well as Residential Buildings in Vienna and Berlin.
