Autorenporträt
Corinna Schroeder-von Frihling was born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1942. She attended 1949-61 Rudolf-Steiner School and studied with her father, the visual artist Pit von Frihling. In 1966 she became journeyman in ceramics. In 1966-68 she studied in ceramics, graphics and general education in Kiel. She moved in 1968 to the island of Foehr and in 1972 together with her husband Walter Schroeder they founded a Painting School and in 1989 an International Gallery. Corinna worked also as a curator and lecturer, and was co-organizer of 'Kleinkunstveranstaltungen' (Readings and small performances) and Irish Nights, as well as many exhibitions in the isle of Foehr and other parts of Germany. Her own work has been shown at numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe and Canada. They are held in many private collections as well as in "The American Biennial Exhibition Research Archives", Iowa, USA. She also received several awards in Germany. In 2011 Corinna published "APHORISMS - Aphorisms and Wood Engravings", Doolin, Clare, Ireland; in 2016 "ES WAR, ALS HAETT' DER HIMMEL" (It Was Like Heavens Glimmer) 32 Engel Collagen von Pit von Frihling at "tredition.de", Hamburg, Germany; in 2017 "SKETCHES from sessions at The Roadside Tavern Lisdoonvarna 1998-2003 by Walter Schroeder" at "tredition.co.uk", Hamburg, Germany, book of the month November 2017 at "tredition"; in 2019 "SKETCHES from sessions at O'CONNOR'S, Doolin 1993-2003 by Walter Schroeder" at "tredition.co.uk", Hamburg, Germany; in 2020 "SKETCHES from sessions at McGann's Doolin 1998-2003 by Walter Schroeder" at "tredition.co.uk", Hamburg, Germany, book of the month March 2020 at "tredition". Corinna lives and works in Doolin, County Clare, Ireland. She is a member of "Visual Artist Ireland", was a member of "Doolin Artists" (2000-2005) a loose group of artists out of that area and became a member of "Lismorahaun Singers" in 2004.
