The books illustrator was one of those lucky people that got to watch the miracle happen! Being one of the author's boarders, gave the artist a unique day to day perspective and made her the easy choice to create the artwork. She painted 28, 8x10 paintings that do an excellent job bringing the story to life!

Brad along with his wife Lori (The girl the book is about) operate an equine facility, Painted Acres, in Northeast Pennsylvania. Not being particularly fond of labels, if needed he describes what he is and does regarding horses as being a "Gentler". Using methods and philosophies in the treating and training of horses that are natural to them, discarding the unnecessary use of fear, pain and intimidating. Both Brad and Lori have a deep love and reverence for these magnificent animals.
