This book is based on my PhD dissertation. It introduces the reader into the biophysical basis of fluorescence and describes the utilized instrumentation. It focuses to 4 different topics in the field of plant fluorescence: (1) Development and application of a new chlorophyll fluorescence method based on a feedback control technique. (2) Fluorescence imaging based verification that the early symptoms of the tobacco mosaic virus can be recognised by UV excited blue-green fluorescence before visual symptoms appear. (3) Recognition of remote imaging based on the ratio images of the blue- and…mehr

This book is based on my PhD dissertation. It introduces the reader into the biophysical basis of fluorescence and describes the utilized instrumentation. (2) Fluorescence imaging based verification that the early symptoms of the tobacco mosaic virus can be recognised by UV excited blue-green fluorescence before visual symptoms appear. (3) Recognition of remote imaging based on the ratio images of the blue- and UV-excited chlorophyll fluorescence as an adequate tool to monitor plant leaves or even whole plant cultivars in a non-invasive way from a remote distance of approximately 0.5 m. (4) Recognition of fluorescence imaging as a suitable tool for characterizing grape fruits.
