This book reports on an investigation to develop a controller with the help of fuzzy logic which is among one of the methodology of soft computing to maintain the cane level in Donnelly chute for proper feeding pressure of cane during cane juice extraction. This book presents a methodology to develop the best fuzzy logic based controller to maintain the cane level in Donnelly chute at desired level. Due to the non-linearity in the input parameters fuzzy logic is expected to give better results as compared to conventional controller. Different algorithms of fuzzy controller are developed and the simulation results are compared to find out best algorithm which maintains the cane level at desired height. The fuzzy algorithm which shows best result in maintaining the cane at desired level in Donnelly chute is implemented in final step using VHDL language.
