Remote sensing technology has been revealed to be a valuable tool in mineral exploration. Its ability to map a broad range of alterations associated with certain mineral deposits and revealing structural features that control them make it a time saving and cost-effective exploration method. Its application in delineating potential areas for hydrothermal gold mineralisation has been successful over the recent years in countries like Sudan, Egypt, and Iran. This book, therefore, provides a method that uses Landsat 8 data to produce gold potential areas map in Pala gold district having similar climatic conditions as Sudan. Three sets of data are used: hydrothermal alteration areas and lineaments extracted from Landsat 8 data, then geochemical data obtained from rock samples. The different information gathered is then integrated for their spatial correlations. This analysis is part of the new mineral exploration methods and should be especially useful to professionals and academics in the field of mineral exploration or anyone else who may be interested in considering new cost-effective and time-saving mineral exploration methods.
