Stillage, an industrial effluent with a high organic load, is obtained in large volumes during the production of ethyl alcohol. This effluent represents a danger to the environment. There are a variety of technologies based on treating the effluent using physical-chemical and microbiological methods, the main objective of which is to mitigate the polluting power of the stillage, reduce organic matter and other contaminants and balance the carbon/nitrogen ratio.many microorganisms are capable of producing metabolites of biotechnological interest using stillage as a substrate, an alternative for reusing the effluent and reducing production costs. One of the products of interest are microbial emulsifiers or bioemulsifiers, which allow the solubilization and emulsification of various pollutants. These biomolecules can be applied as additives to soil washing solutions in replacement of commercial surfactants. In the present work, the efficiency of an Actinbacteria for the treatment of vinasse and production of bioemulsifiers was evaluated, using a sample obtained from a sugar industry.
