Quibdó, capital of Choco, has been presenting in recent years unfortunate activities carried out by human beings, which have generated negative situations to the environment, one of these activities is the indiscriminate logging of timber forest species used for the construction of buildings, which are becoming scarce throughout the Choco territory. This activity has generated environmental, economic and social problems in the most vulnerable communities, which in some way depend on natural resources. This contributed to investigate and identify a sustainable alternative material for the construction of wooden buildings. This material presents adequate conditions for the construction of one and two-story buildings, it has adequate characteristics of durability, comfort, environmental friendliness among other benefits. It is intended then to present a type of sustainable building, which offers advantages to both vulnerable communities and the environment where these buildings are built.
