It was observed with this study the application of the 5s management tool in a dairy agroindustry in the sertão of Paraíba in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the application of the senses of use, ordering, cleanliness, health and discipline for an economically sustainable development. For that, the case study method was used with a qualitative approach of the exploratory-descriptive type. A diagnosis of the initial situation of the agroindustry object of research was carried out based on the analysis of the environmental aspects of its production stages, through which it was possible to identify the inadequate disposal of the whey emitted, in addition to other factors that hindered the general functioning of the company and affected its finances. With the result of the diagnosis, it was possible to compare the before and after application of the 5s management tool and the accounting of the income earned with the reuse of the whey as animal feed. In addition to developing a sustainability policy, it was possible to improve the company's operational development with simple and low-cost changes, which ratifies the 5S management tool as capable of implementing the PNRS.
