This book discusses the application of a new M3Y-type effective interaction to nuclear matter and optical model analyses. It meaningfully identifies nuclear matter and nuclear reactions as the two most current research concerns in contemporary Nuclear Physics used as testing grounds for the viability of newly developed effective interactions. Produktbeschreibung
Divided into five chapters, chapter one is devoted to introduction, chapter two gives an overview of nucleon-nucleon effective interactions, chapter three explains the derivation of the new effective interaction from the lowest order constrained variational approach alongside its application to nuclear matter within Hartree-Fock approximation and nuclear reactions within the framework of optical model. Chapter four presents and discusses the results obtained from numerical calculations, where as chapter five gives a summary of major findings, highlights major contributions to knowledge and makes suggestions for further studies along with concluding remarks. In the final analysis, the findings contained in this book put the new effective interaction, the B3Y-Fetal, on a par with the famous M3Y-Reid and M3Y-Paris effective interactions.
