The application of ultrasound to goat reproduction is recent and is part of the search for strategies to optimize production and reproduction. This book is an important contribution to elucidate some fields of application of ultrasound in goat reproduction, such as pregnancy diagnosis, dynamics of the fetus and ovarian follicles and uterine involution. In the clinical field, data on the monitoring of fetal dynamics are necessary for the effective management of pregnant females in our tropics. In addition, it is possible to organize a control of uterine involution and ovarian activity after parturition. In the field of animal husbandry, this manual reports benchmarks for early and continuous pregnancy monitoring and sexing as major areas of interest for practitioners. These data are necessary to reactivate the reproduction of non-pregnant females, to group pregnant females according to their nutritional needs and to organize appropriate rationing during the last trimester of gestation and to prepare for delivery.
