Le Dr Prasad P. travaille actuellement comme professeur et chef du département de nanotechnologie, SIT, groupe d'institutions Srinivas, Mangaluru, Karnataka, Inde. Il a joué un rôle clé dans l'établissement du diplôme de licence en nanotechnologie à Karnataka, en Inde. Ses recherches portent notamment sur les nanomatériaux, les polymères/mélanges biocompatibles et les nanocomposites.
