The Sybil attacker impersonates as multiple benign vehicles for gaining a disproportionately large influence. The conventional pseudonym generation schemes preserve the privacy and also facilitate the identification of Sybil attacker. To detect the Sybil attack with location privacy preservation, this research work proposes three types of defense mechanisms named as Privacy through Anonymous Beacon (PLPAB), Sybil Attack Resistant Location Privacy (SARLP), and SYstem for detecting misBehavIng vehicLes with loCAtion Privacy (SYBIL-CAP).
