The architectural and urban heritage in the Algerian Sahara, particularly the ksour, certainly represents a cultural production of undeniable wealth. Because of its architectural and urbanistic value, the ksar constitutes one of the historical landmarks of present-day Saharan cities, which unfortunately continue to fall into neglect, where a considerable part of this heritage is in agony and is in imminent danger of disappearing. For this reason, the establishment of a rehabilitation intervention methodology is necessary in order to strengthen this architecture with a view to safeguarding it.Reinforcement techniques are multiple and vary according to structures, building systems and materials. Good rehabilitation requires a good knowledge of the latter in order to choose the most appropriate reinforcement approach, always respecting the sensitivity and specificity of this heritage in order to keep its authenticity and its architectural and heritage character.
